How to CREATE group (as admin)?

Wondering if this is so obvious that it’s never mentioned, or if there’s something wrong with my installation!

How does one create a group?

I don’t want users to have that ability (so I’ve left the User Groups option unchecked under BP Settings.

I only need one group.

WP 4.8.2
BP: 2.5.14

Check ‘User Groups’ under BP > Settings > Components
Uncheck ‘Group Creation’ under BP > Settings > Options

I was misled by the “Groups allow your users to organize themselves…” language on the Components page.

I don’t suppose you could show me how/where I can add users to the group?

wp-admin > Groups > select Edit under the Group Name and follow the instructions
