I am relatively new to BuddyPress and my users will need a WYSIWYG editor so they can upload images/videos/etc. and bold/etc.

Is this possible and if so, how?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Videos will embed into a post as is.

Another way to allow image uploads is to grant that member role the ability to perform media uploads by using a user role editor such as WPFront User Role Editor, then the usual Add Media Button will appear and images will appear in the media library.

If you do this you may want to install Separate Media to stop users seeing other peoples media uploads.
