How to get two buttons to appear on a page

I haven’t downloaded anything yet – so I can’t include information about versions and a link.

Can I use BuddyPress to insert (1) a post button and (2) an email notification button? I’d like for these two buttons to appear on the same page before visitors register or log in – and direct visitors to a page where they can register or log in. Is this possible without typing new code?

I think what I may want is an extensible group with email notification support. Are there any examples of this?
