How to move buddypress 'notifications' to left and add a new link instead of it?

How can i move buddypress ‘notifications’ link to the left of the buddypress bar and add a link beside the “Howdy,yourname”?
I tried this using firebug but this moves the both (‘notification’ + ‘howdy,yourname’) to the left where i just want ‘notification’ to the left.
