How to remove the name in the registration page ?

I went a bit through BuddyPress documentation and unfortunately I didn’t find my answers. I would like to remove the ‘name(required)’ field in the registration page ? is it possible ?
I do understand the logic behind it, however asking twice the user to put their nickname is a bit redundant. If it’s not possible to remove it, would it be possible to automatically generate it from the other field (username required) ? So the user doesn’t have to type it twice.
