I can’t install group forums.

I want to have both group and sitewide forums in my wordpress website for my class. The problem is that when I tried to install group forums, there is a message saying “A configuration file could not be created. No problem, but you will need to save the text shown below into a file named bb-config.php in the root directory of your WordPress installation before you can start using the forum functionality.”

I tried to solve this problem by reading previous posts, but I still couldn’t solve it. What should I do? Where can I find the fine named “bb-config.php in the root directory? I would appreciate if you could give me a step-by-step instruction.

    Thank you.

That’s odd, there is no file called bb-config.php located in the root of standard installs, in fact on my install I cannot find a file of that name at all.

Either way I’m thinking that you mist have some sort of compatibility issue that is stopping bbPress from loading. Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins apart from buddypress and bbPress and trying again?

In fact, I can find a sitewide forum on Dashboard –> Forums, but I can’t add it to a new page. Do you have any ideas? How can I add this sitewide forum to a menu?

Normally if you create a page called Forums then the forum list will appear on that page.

From that forum list you can see the link to any sitewide forums you have created and you can use this to create a custom link menu item that goes directly to that forum.

I got it. But my problem is that I created a sitewide forum from Forums, but that created forum can’t be found in Pages. I found that there is no menu of Forums. I don’t know how to do it. Please help.
