I have a problem with the header using BuddyPress Default 1.5.5 theme

I create a banner at exactly the right pixel size (1250 × 133 pixels) then after uploading it and publishing the image it doesn’t seem to work. There is a small strip at the bottom (maybe 6 pixels high) which seems to have been cut off the top then placed at the bottom.
I can’t figure out how to stop it doing that? You can have a look at the banner on our website to see what I mean: http://words2us.com/
