Installing buddypress

    I need to know if it necessary creating the folder bp-config.php and later uploading by FTP to /wp-content/plugins/ in (Files) PcPanel . I have activated the plugin buddypress without creating this folder. Is it necessary? Can you explain to me step by step the installing of buddypress, please? Thanks.
