installing word press and buddy press on mac

Right now I have install wordpress and buddy press locally on my mac, but it want work I follow the video that andy posted but it was not for mountain lion on the mac so alot of the commands want work, need help on what I’m doing wrong, it keeps saying the database is not configured,I followed the video step by step.

I’d first up suggest the following codex page for WordPress: https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_Locally_on_Your_Mac_With_MAMP. Get that sorted BuddyPress is the easy bit.

I tried that , now I getting wp-config.php file is not created,but word press guides you there and ask you to fill it out ,once I do that it still does not work, do you know why ?thanks for the previous advice
