Funny, I was going to ask a similar question.
One of the areas for future expansion is to give BP a gallery. I’m converting my site over to BP and we have galleries.
I’m looking for a recommendation for a good gallery plugin to use until BP’s comes on-line.
They make one called Gallery and Gallery 2 which is a standalone and an integrated gallery that you can download from here http://gallery.menalto.com/
I use this integrated into my drupal install page, but I want one that is integrated into buddypress, not a standalone one. I can just make a link to my Gallery standalone, but I want one that is integrated into BuddyPress. Anyone know of one?

Gaetan, thanks for that. I’m planning on integrating that, too.
What I was looking for was a work around for locally hosted images for users, ala Facebook or MySpace.
I’m thinking NextGen the gallery might work for what I want, as it’s probably going to be a while before the development team will get to adding the gallery into the BP code.
