why does it look like this at my page then? /members/jberger/invitations/ If it should just be called invites? Any idea how to fix that?

But I don´t know how to make it right. I don´t know how it is created, I use standard buddypress setup.
Anyways: invites are part of the notifications. Is there a possiblity to remove the invitations link from the object-nav?

That is not part of a standard BP setup.
So there is some issue specific to your site – perhaps caused by your theme or some other code or plugin.
