Is the WP post to site tag incompatible with buddypress?

When I tried to install it I received the fatal error
wp_get_current_user() in /home/public_html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1059

I’m looking for a widget like it that will allow my sub-bloggers to post or access the post page on the backend without wp-admin.
Thoughts on either?

Thanks. That’s where I found the post to site plugin. I couldn’t get it to work with BP.

I ended up using Jet Quickpress. Not exactly what I wanted but it works for a simple way for people to post from the front end. Though the hover drop down menus are difficult to navigate and need to be reworked.
