Is there a simple way to add a few pages with surveys to the users profiles?

I’m new to WordPress and BuddyPress and not a developer. I’m trying to create a website for people with a particular disease. The idea here would be to allow the users to fill out their profiles with some basic data like their names and contact information, and other pages or sections in their profiles too, with a big survey where the user would include all the information that researchers interested in knowing more about the disease and these patients, or, recruiting subjects for experiments and studies, would like to know.
I understand it may not be very simple, so I’m thinking of hiring someone to do this. I’d like to know still, if it’s task for a programmer, how difficult would it be? Also, I accept other ideas as to how to best achieve the functionality of the website, its first obejctive: it’s supposed to work as a repository or census for understanding the disease and its patients better and for helping researchers find subjects for experiments or studies; the secondary: forums and tools to allow patients to connect and discuss; and the tertiary: a blog with the latest news and stories on the subject.
