Issues with BP Multisite Enable

Two issues cropped up on my WPMU site after BP Multiblog Enable set to true.
1/ I now can’t find the control panel for BP Groupblog anywhere, and
2/ a log-in widget throws up the error message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function messages_get_unread_count()

Anybody any clues on these? Thanks in anticipation

duh! private messaging was turned off in Buddypress options in the newly separated blogs. That solved 1/ …. Still looking for 2/
