log-in is delayed ?

I have created a new password and after receiving the 2 e-mails (link confirmation and new password) I could not log-in into this website (buddypress.org) for several hours.
Is this because there is a certain cron-job running every couple hours only ?
I actually would not like to have this delay at my own BP-site.
How would I configure this in order to be able to log-in immediately after receiving a new password ?
