Losing Main Blog on the wp_bp_user_blogs table on Activation

Using the latest version of BP and multisite, SubDomains: (but this weirdness happened in previous version too) I also have a SubDir MUinstall that’s an exact replica where this doesn’t happen.

Everytime I update the BP files and reactivate the plugin, id=1, user_id=1, blog_id=1, is removed from the wp_bp_user_blogs table. Anyone else seen this happen. This causes bp components not to recognize the main site so it Blog 1 doesn’t appear in any blog listings in the site or navigation and any bp plugin components looking for available blogs. I’ve been reinserting it to bring it back but what happens when its removed, is that all the blog_id’s move up a slot in the table so the id and blog_id is offset one, meaning I have to move the second row to the end and renumber.

    Any ideas?

I suspected other plugins and I’ve been at this for a while so I’ve tested them all off and on. I also suspect one other thing, being that I had changed the superadmin’s name from ‘admin’ to soemthing else a long time ago. I did this from the dB and it conflicted with another user with the same name. Even after “fixing” that fiasco everything seemed ok. Would this admin name change have anything to do with anything?

is this table supposed to exclude the Main Blog ID?

`Everytime I update the BP files and reactivate the plugin, id=1, user_id=1, blog_id=1, is removed from the wp_bp_user_blogs table.`

So: install BP 1.2.7 on an existing multisite sub-domain. wp_bp_user_blogs has the main blog in it. Then re-activate the plugin and it disappears? Are those the steps so I can test this?

@djpaul this is true…it’s also happening when i just deactivatate and reactivate BP. I have a strong feeling its my install. specifically, since it doesn’t seem to happen on other MU installs I have. but then again, all my others are Subdirectories not subdomains like this case.

Since now i’m also losing another super-admin owned blog too during this, not just the main site.

I’m just trying to track back now and see what the wp_bp_user_blogs is for and where is it being used.

If you want you can login using the guest logins I emailed you earlier and deactivate and reactivate BP while keeeping your eye on the phpmyadmin…to see the blogs disappear…that would be ok.

I’m revisiting this thread only because it happened to me again and the wp_bp_user_blogs table goes crazy with adding the superadmin to all sites and makes some subscribers of site as belonging to the site. And then some sites disappear from the table all together making them not appear in the My Blogs menu.

I came across these this week and I couldn’t help to think they might be related to this.

What does the wp_bp_user_blogs responsible for exactly? is it to assign blogids to userids that are admin of that site, or any role on the site?

shouldn’t it only have blogids with only userids of the administrators of site. 1:1
