making the header tranceparent in my child theme?

    Hi, I’m trying to make the header transparent in my child theme. Iv’e tried editing the css to :none and renaming the image to my own but it still calls the image in the default theme. I’ve tried using the admin panel: custom header with a transparent gif and pgn to no avail, just comes out black?

    Might be my settings in ps/illustrator cause I just upgraded to cs5 so Ill have a look but I think its something to do with wp/bp?
