Matching members in Groups

I have 2 groups. One teachers another students. Both enter data for a field “career interested” at time of registration.
I want to match and show list of students to a teacher with same career interested field.
That is if a teacher enters “php” as career interested then i want to show this teacher a list of students that have registered by entering “php” as their career interested. How can i implement this. ?Also another thing. Which is the best plugin to give chat and email functionality to teachers and students so that they can chat & email within their group and across their group also ?
Kindly help me to implement this. I need it as it is very important feature for my website,
