Media Upload button now launches new window, can not post images…

I’ve installed WPMU, BuddyPress, and BBPress.

The cookie integration is giving me a bit of grief, but I’ll get it ;) I’m fairly excited about the options this presents my school, we’re making a unifying network for game theorists (hopefully) as part of the department of game studies at UW. Visit our test site at http://www.thompsonjason.org

Running current versions of WPMU, BP, and BBP as of April 13 2009. (BBPress pre-release, not .9xxx stable)

For the most part, it runs like a top. A few plugins and all’s well. However, I have noticed that my media upload buttons not longer launch in the dashboard / lightbox looking window, but instead open the file upload prompt in a new window. I would consider this a minor bug and mess with it myself, except that once you go through the upload process, and click “insert in post”, it goes to a solid white page, and the post as well as the media are lost.

I’ve disabled all my plugins, both WP and MU Plugins, and the problem persists. If I disable BuddyPress (ie- remove the bp files from mu plugins and change the theme) functionality returns- the media upload buttons now open over the dashboard and image posting works wonderfully.

I’ve re-downloaded and applied BuddyPress hoping I got a bad zip file, sadly that has had no effect.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, help is greatly appreciated as this function is paramount to the nature of our network.

Thank you all for your work

    ~ Aaron

Here some things I noticed about your site. You are running two plugins that use js which could interfere with the operation of the wpmu backend media popup. Geopress and Lightbox. Plugins that run js sometimes don’t play nice together. Try disabling those to see if the problem clears up.

Also the bp-events plugin doesn’t seem to be loading it’s css. Looks like the const BP_PLUGIN_URL is not defined. That’s an indication that you are running something less than the current trunk. The bp-events plugin seems to assume that you are running svn trunk bp. BP_PLUGIN_URL is only defined in recent trunk versions of bp.

    You are correct sir!

I downloaded the most recent stable release, but I did in fact need the most current svn trunk (that ‘trunk’ business confused me a bit I think) to correctly run… well everything I was trying to run.

It seems now that BuddyPress is doing what it’s supposed to – though I am having some trouble in my test accounts with the BuddyPress header bar not always replacing the WP header bar when in the dashboard… Thoughts?

The lightbox plugin seems to function safely with WPMU installs now as well. Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated.
