MediaPress & BadgeOS Conflict?

  • @alice-kaye

Today I installed MediaPress as their website said not to use BP Gallery any longer, that support for that was coming to an end. I’m trying to find a gallery that integrates with BuddyPress & bbPress, so I thought this was my best option.

However, I tried to install BadgeOS, which is going to be an integral part of my guild website and I wound up getting the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /home/<em>[PRIVATE]</em>/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mediapress-master/admin/functions.php on line 11

I’m not sure what that means, or where the conflict is, so I’m hoping someone can help me with this.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! I want to make sure I can run these things together without errors. If BP Gallery is the better option for now, I’ll switch over to that.

Question related to this plugin can be asked on author’s blog.

As a first step, you can already repair this:

    /wp-content/plugins/mediapress-master/

mediapress-master is the folder name assigned by github (where the plugin can be downloaded). You have to change this name to /mediapress/ before installing it.

Be aware that plugin is in beta phase and not recommended to be used on a live site, because it’s not completed and some bugs are still in.

Hi @danbp, thanks so much for responding.

I tried this morning to repair the mediapress file by renaming it and reinstalling it, just to test it and see if that fixed the error and it did not. Still received the same response.

I’m thinking my only option at this rate is to go with BP Gallery, because I’m not finding anything that’s more afforadble/free. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Appreciate your help! 🙂
