Member name error – redirects to main site

Somehow, one of my site members has a “.” (donnas.jennings) in her user name but for some reason a “-” (donnas-jennings) is there instead causing it to redirect her to the main site every time she tries to click a link from within buddypress. How can I correct this?

Set this in your wp-config.php file:
```
define( 'BP_ENABLE_USERNAME_COMPATIBILITY_MODE', true );
```
