Members, Activities and Groups buttons all nonfunctional

Hi, I’m currently quite new at working buddypress and I just can’t get the ‘members’, ‘activities’ and ‘groups’ functions to work at all. All they do is return a 404 page. I have several inklings as to where the problems might be but I’ve got no idea how to even begin solving the problem. Is this a problem with my permalinks or an installation problem?

Are permalinks configured on your WordPress? Do you know if your server is Apache, Nginx or IIS? What versions of WordPress/BuddyPress are you running?

Hi Paul, as far as permalinks are concerned, mine are configured to “/index.php/2010/10/24/sample-post/”

As far as I know, my server is running IIS and the wordpress and buddypress versions are 3.0.1 and 1.2.6 respectively

    Thanks for the help!

Hi again, I’ve been trawling through the forums and it looks like my problem is the same as this one: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/installing-buddypress/forum/topic/buddypress-and-pathinfo-almost-pretty-permalinks/

is there a solution for this already?

    Thanks!

Try changing your permalinks to /%category%/%postname%/

Can you do that, or do you get an error message?

If successful, do BuddyPress links now work
If not, you need to configure your server correctly for WordPress before using BuddyPress

I’ve tried that, but the permalink will default to include an ‘index.php’ in the permalink as well. I suppose I’ll have to go configure my server to allow pretty permalinks
