Memebers loop show only 3 random popular members

Hello I am wanting to show 3 random popular people in my sites sidebar and was wonderign how I could do this using the memebers loop?
also would be to add the mebers most recent acvitity plus a add friend button as well?
Help would be awesome! thank you!
