Moving to a new URL.

I have a WordPress 3.0 multisite buddrypress 1.2.5 site running and I need to move it to a new URL. I can just backup and copy all the files over but I am concerned that I also need to change some of the settings so that blogs etc are changed to have the new URL – What files do I need to change the new URL in?

Clarify “move to a new url”? Do you mean you are simply moving to a new server or actually to a new domain name?

Just a new domain on the same server. Thanks.

Ie. Due to threat of legal action I need to change my site from science2point0.com to science3point0.com but I have bloggers etc so I need all the things to be updated so their blogs will be science3point0.com/blog name.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Should simply be a case of trawling through the DB and changing all instances of the old domain name to the new one.

Cheers, is it just the database, do I need to change wp-config files etc?

You would simply ensure the existing DB had new domain name entries, having ensured safety backups in case of disasters. You might want to set up a 301 permanent redirect from old domain to new though
