BuddyPress.org

As of right now, in profiles, when i select multiple checkboxes, it outputs this data:

a:2:{i:0;s:26:”the_checkbox_name”;i:1;s:37:”the_checkbox_name2″;}

I would like to change it so there is now serialization; just the selections separated by either semi colons, or quotes.

Is there a specific buddypress function to do this, or an argument? I would appreciate the help… and as detailed a walkthrough as you can… relatively new to this aspect of BP.
