New Member Approval Questions

    OK, so everything is setup WP, BuddyPress plus Youzify for styling.

    I have Admin approval setup for new Members, but would like to setup additional admin users to manage the approvals and create groups etc. I will then act as the main admin for the website, updates etc. — but for what I think is an obvious security issue, I would like to not grant these user full admin roles.

    I’ve searched here and online but cannot find any sensible solutions so would appropriate any help or advise on how this might be possible — perhaps a 3rd party plugin? 🙏

    Hi @venutius, not sure if I am missing something, but it doesn’t appear to work – in-fact when enabled and user role is selected the User no only doesn’t receive an email but the notification in BP stops working.

    I might look at using a 3rd party registration plugin like Paid Memberships Pro.

    Interesting, the plugin does not interact with notifications, it only allows a user with a different role to have the same rights as admin in the required context. You seem to be saying that it allowed your user to approve the new member. meaning it worked, but then you say no approval email, then BP does not work, but if the user got approved, then BP was working, or something different is not working?

    Hi @venutius, I must apologies as I misunderstood what the plugin was doing — the user role I had setup had manage options enabled so I didn’t see any change.

    I have now created a new user role and using the plugin the assigned users can still manage the Group, Members, Activity and emails perfectly without having access to other areas.

    The main problem I had was how to email/notify the none admin users that a new member needed approving – after going around in circles I simplified the whole login/registration process by using Gravity Forms which solved some other issues with keeping records and triggering 3rd party services.
