How would I make it so that each group could have a different link instead of all groups getting that one by default?
That is difficult and messy to pull off. The tabs are really for content inside the group. Not site navigation.
What are you linking to? What kind of content?
I will in work this into a plugin. I have never attempted a plugin before but I believe I could possibly pull it off. (see idea here)
I am wanting to be able to easily add another tab to the group navigation tabs that I can then assign a url to.
I am not trying to make it display within a group tab page, simply linking to other relevant content.
If each group is linking to individual content then why not just place that content inside group. If you want to add the content from the admin you can place a loop on the group tab page instead of sending user outside the group.
Create page in admin, have drop down of groups to save page meta, group tab displays correct page as you chose the page when creating the content.
