New Profile Fields

Am I missing something, or are the new fields created in profiles randomly hotlinked? I thought it was an issue with my own install (wp 2.7.1 and bp rc-2) but now I see it on others as well. What is the rationale for hotlinking profile field entries to the member\’s directory (e.g. Personal Info > Age > 24 and having 24 hotlinked)? Plus, it does not seem to be consistent as I see some entries appearing as text while others are linked. Confused…
