On Install of WordPress, I attempted to delete the home page comment that is there by default. This produced some type of FTP error. (I didnt save a copy)

On install of buddypress (very clean user friendly interface, I might add, Bravo! Espescially after trying DNN… but I digress) I initially see 2 problems.
1) The home page says, “Not Found Sorry but you are looking for something that isnt here”
2) When I attempt to edit my profile, I get a Page not found error.
3) Do we have email authentication of new users available?
4) Can anyone recommend any other plugins I should using to make this is a clean & professional “true” social networking site?
