Notification emails not sending

Hi all,
since I upgraded WP and BP to 3.2.1 and 1.5.1 the notification emails are no longer being sent out, private messages and mentions are, but topics I am following or created don’t seem to be sending anything out. I am assuming this is something to do with a cron job somewhere. Can someone point me in the right direction of where I investigate further.

I am more or less in the same boat, only my emails are getting sent, but no way for users to activate their keys……weird

I think we are talking about different things, I’m talking about notification emails for registered users not activation emails
