Only allow admin to create the groups

    Hi,

At our chamber of commerce we want to control the groups and assign the members to the groups.

How can we set up the groups from within WP Admin as I cannot see an option to do so in settings ?

    Regards,

    Mike

@optimized You can create the group from frontend only.
You can also limit the group create feature for admin only from BuddyPress Setting

    Setting >> BuddyPress >> Options

    Thanks Varun,

After I log in and click groups I got to http://www.camaramaritima.org.pa/members/optimized/groups/ but it has a 404 message.

Do you know what is causing t his to happen ?

    Regards,

    Mike

    Hi @optimized,

I was having a somewhat similar problem, which was due to a coding problem with the latest version of buddypress.

Do you have the activity feature of buddypress disabled? If so, then this is probably the same error I had. You can try activating the activity feature, or you can changed the code as indicated here: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/7870/7870.02.patch

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Not too clever having a release with the main feature not working!

Thanks for the advice. Just for clarification – do I replace the red code with the blue code ?

    Thanks.

I still get a 404 error when clicking on the activity link when logged in after editing the code as described above:

    http://www.camaramaritima.org.pa/members/mike/activity/

Have I missed something out in the set up ?

    Hi,
I have resolved this 404 issue which was caused by unfriendly permalinks.

However, now I do not get a 404 error but do not see a page either. I just see the website header and footer section. This is true for all the links on the buddypress menu.

How can we get these pages displaying ?

    Thanks,

    Mike
