Please help with this fatal error

    Since the day i ve installed buddy press i am struggling with it. i am using custom community theme. new versions were not working then i installed older version. its working but lots of problems. the profile page is not completely being shown. no view option in which we can see about us. search page is there but not showing anything and moreover edit page is showing this error

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_current_user_can() in /home/zin/public_html/doosrishadi.org/wp-content/themes/custom-community/members/single/profile/edit.php on line 116

    Noww please tell me what to do

    new version, old version ? of what, BP? You must use the latest stable BP, sounds like you are using an older version of BP but with newer template files that are using a call to a function that is somewhat new, didn’t exist in older versions.

    Yes i am using very old version like 5 something but i really tried so many new eveb the latest but it was giving fatal error at the time of installation.

    I’m afraid the only real answer here is that you must use latest version of BP unless there is some massive compelling reason not to, errors in running the latest rc should be tracked down and dealt with.

     

    Get BP set up and functioning fully using the bp-default theme before attempting to use  / activate a custom one, this way you know your install is ok and any problems thereafter must be theme related.
