Possible bug with plugins.php and saving user meta

  • @modemlooper

I’m creating a simple profile privacy plugin and when you save the settings on form submission the page refreshes but its not pulling in the new settings you have to refresh page twice. Could this be a problem using plugins.php for the output of the form?

    dev.buddiphone DOTcom

    login test test

go to settings/privacy and check and save you will see it doesn’t change but when refreshing page the settings are corrected

I haven’t really changed much about the default apart from the odd tweak here and there.

So might be an idea to take these edits out and see what happens, it’s a hunch but I got a feeling the bp-custom.php I added recently is causing probs.

The second custom I tried to squeeze in there broke the site twice, so could be the culprit? it’s the tweak to send peeps to your profile instead of activity – might be linked ?

well thats all my edits out of the bp-default and yup no joy :(

so back to plugin conflict land and robbing Peter to pay Paul again lol

@modemlooper, you’re obviously an ‘experienced’ member of this community, if I were to put my plugins list up here for you to view, do you think it would be possible to work out which plugins could be clashing at all..?

    No harm in trying right..?

    Well heres the list anyway:

    bp-phototag
    buddypress
    buddypress-group-documents
    buddypress-profile-privacy
    dashboard-commander
    display-widgets
    mail-from
    si-contact-form
    wp-banners-lite
    wp-mail-smtp

Switch theme to bp-default and test, could be a child/custom theme issue

At last !! got it working properly

was worth the work coz it’s a fab plugin for sure

I basically had to strip my child theme down to the bare necessities but without compromising too much, off to give it the 5 stars it thoroughly deserves.

Brilliant work by all those involved with this, so glad it’s been resurrected too, you’ve no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this lol

    Thanks gang :)

Glad you got it working, and just to put it out there, when you edit default and not thoroughly understanding what your changing can cause problems later.
