BTW, I switched to default theme, they are still off.
I just set up my wp network, so I have no plugins installed other than bp, and wordpress and bp-template pack.
Is this offset just for me, or for all users?
This fix, from @r-a-y is outdated: https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset/3142, applied some, does not fix the problem
I just updated and now I have this exact problem except mine is off my 5 hours. I live in New York, time zone in wordpress is set to New York.
Anybody? mmhmmm……. not good..
I have this problem also. I think it’s pretty poor of buddypress.
I tried setting the time zone in wordpress to New York, setting the time earlier so it set it to “5 hours”, realizing that, from LA, being 9 hours, maybe going further would solve it.
Setting to Moscow Russia I figured would fix the problem, but then it just says “sometime ago”
I NEED to have Times working, because everything is archived through time on my site, (cough cough, @djpaul 👿
I do not mean to be as impolite as him ^^^ 😮
Well, throw me a clue here. Was your BuddyPress always like this? Did the times break when upgrading to BP 1.2.7? Or WP 3.0.4?
I just installed wordpress and buddypress today, so everything is new
Just for a tester, I de-updated the plugin from 1.2.7, to 1.2.6, time still broken.
De-updated again to 1.2.5, and times are correct!
Broke for me when upgraded to 1.2.6.
Thanks @djpaul
Broke when I upgrade to 1.2.6-and 1.2.7. I was sort of waiting for a topic of this matter
Thats why I haven’t upgraded
If this is a bug and not a misconfiguration, a report when we were on 1.2.6 would have let us fix it for 1.2.7
I’m assuming, as you’ve said, that the WordPress timezone is set to your timezone. Do you know if your server itself is based in a different timezone from you? Are you also sure that it’s *every* timestamp? Post a blog, create a group, write in the activity stream — are they all showing the same time (give or take a few minutes), and are they all off? Or is it just one or two particular timestamps around the site?
Also, can you check if your server is running PHP5 or PHP4. If you’re not sure, ask your host.
Every single timestamp related to buddypress is off. Every one. When I post a status update, at first it says 0 seconds ago: then I refresh the page and it says 7 hours. My host and wordpress are correct time because comments have correct time. Should I go back to no 1.2.5.2?
Same Exact problem that I have, ALL my time stamps are off by 8 hours. I live in Las Vegas, and It’s set to las vegas.
I’m just living with wrong time.
@bigjimmysiso, just tell your users to ignore the “7 hours,”
Add me to the list. Mine are off by 6 hours WTF???
I am going back ro 1.2.5.2. I am scared to update to the latest version……
Will somebody put in a ticket? or a patch would always be nice
I have the same problem. @djpaul, is it extremely hard to release a new version of buddypress? 1.2.8?
Mine off by 7 hours
@vegasparty607, that was my idea, just a big notice: “please excuse our off time”
I wish there was a way to just subtract hours from the time.. but end up with “sometime ago”
I think I might go back to 1.2.5.2
I’ve been at work all day, and not one of you have read my earlier post fully. Let’s try again:
1) I’m assuming, as you’ve said, that the WordPress timezone is set to your timezone. Do you know if your server itself is based in a different timezone from you?
2) Are you also sure that it’s *every* timestamp?
3) Also, check if your server is running PHP5 or PHP4. If you’re not sure, ask your host.
Sorry.
1. Server is Set to Mountain Time Zone CT-11:17.24
2. *every* timestamp is off that is Buddypress related (profiles, activity, groups, forums) Comment Time is Correct.
3. My server is Running PHP5, godaddy.
My server time is set to my timezone
2. Same thing as BigjimmySisco’s ^^^
I am on Bluehost with PHP5
1. I do not know how to get this info… about timezone…..
2. *every* one is off
3. im on PHP5
@ytylol1 what host are you using?
I am going to go in and mess with the time stamps to see if I can come to a solution because I can’t have this.
I am using blue host
There will be a 1.2.8 coming soon, and we’ll take a look at this time issue and see if we can make sense of it.
How soon?
Is there a patch I can put in for my users so it’s not off?
thanks @johnjamesjacoby. how soon is the next release??
