Maybe there is someone already has talked about this idea, but I’m not sure.

So is it possible to create “friendship” among groups in a buddypress community?

Here are two ways I could think of at the moment:

1. On group homepages, group admins can add links to other groups ( maybe after request and acceptance from each side, just like member friendship. ) . Maybe we need a plugin to do this?

2. Is it possible, for example, when at the pages of Group A, there is a sidebar widget making recommendations: Members of this group are also members of the following: Group E, Group S, etc..

So by these ways, members could find more groups to their interest, and groups could attract more members who share the same interest.
