    BuddyPress 2.1.1
    WordPress 4.0
Multisite Installation, I am Network Admin and Admin on the BP Site.
    X2 Theme

    Good evening,

short question: Is there an intended way as an Admin to change the Avatar of a user? Cannot find any clue within Profile or Extended Profile. Neither on the Site, nor in the network admin…

If not, is there any plugin that enables me to do so? Haven’t found one in the Plugin Repo till now.

    Any help appreciated 🙂

    Thx, brgds

I haven’t tested this in multisite, and can’t at the moment.

On a single install, as an admin, I can go to profile page, select Profile, then Edit, then Change Photo and that takes me to an url like:

    …/members/[login-name]/profile/change-avatar/

@janthiel Not sure why you’re having trouble with this, site admins can always manage all aspects of their registered members profiles including deleting or uploading avatars from the front end or from the backend under users extended tab.

Hey guys, had a similar issue with the avatars not getting uploaded from frontend.

The issue resolved itself after updating from Buddypress 2.0.2 to latest 2.1.1

    Hi guys,

thanks for the quick replies @shanebp and @Hugo.

Just tried again and it still remains: Uploading in wp-admin doesn’t work at all. I can successfully delete Avatars, but uploading does not work. Can you tell me where the function to upload Avatars should be located? I have got the Avatar (Gravatar) area at the right side and the Xtended Profile content in the main area when viewing a single profile. There is a “Delete Avatar” link, when a custom avatar is there, but no “Upload Avatar” if the default Gravatar is shown. Ideas?

Anyway with the Frontend link (…/members/[login-name]/profile/change-avatar/) it works like a charm.
Problem was: The link isn’t there on my site. Seems to be a problem with the X2 Theme. With Twentythirteen the link is there and works. Thanks for the hint where to search 😉

Now lets get the Backend thing sorted out and everythings gona be perfect 🙂

I’m not aware of any avatar uploading for individual users on the backend of a basic WP + BP install.

    Hi @janthiel

I might be wrong but I’m not sure you can upload an avatar via wp-admin (by default)? Are you using a plugin to do that? Something like Simple Local Avatars maybe?
