Post re-direct issue – can’t access posts :~

Hi there – I have a curious issue that has just popped up this evening.
Background: Users can register user accounts on the main blog (blog creation disabled) and can contribute posts.
The issue: If a user is not logged in and they click on a post (by any user) they get redirected to the login page.
If the user is logged in and they click on a post (by any user) – they get re-directed to their member homepage eg: /members/username/
So basically – posts cannot be accessed :~
I have de-activated all plugins > cleared cookies > same problem.
Can anybody offer any insight into this issue?
I have latest versions of MU (2.6.5) and BuddyPress (1.0b1) installed.
