Profile download as a shopping cart

    Hi guys

Just wanted to find out if anyone had and idea of how I could go about doing this.

I have buddypress setup for users to promote their skills as cake makers, ie upload photos and tell a bit about themselves in the profile. But what I’m looking to do is to have people pay to be able to download one of the users recipes.

So from a guest users point of view the running of the site would be:
    1) Browse the user profiles and find a recipe on one of them that you want
    2) Add this recipe (as a PDF) to a shopping cart
    3) Browse for more recipes to add to cart or checkout.

I’m happy to us Paypal and have used wordpress shopping cart plugins in the past for other site, but wanted to know of a way that a PDF file can be associated to a users profile, that can be added to a cart, paid for and then downloaded

    ANY ideas?

    Cheers

Though it’s for groups, you could limit everyone to one group/store to sell. Might be a better flow for customers.

Thanks for the idea but I really wanted to have the list of recipes on the profile pages, also I couldn’t see if it supported digital downloads.

    Any other ideas?

No, there really isn’t a BuddyPress commerce solution for each individual.

You might want to connect with @justbishop who has created a Etsy type BuddyPress site http://www.riotcart.com

she might be able to give you some pointers.

I know the wp-ecommerce guys were wanting to expand their plugin but I think there needs to be a complete front end solution for BuddyPress users to sell things.

basically you’d allow each member to create a blog and then they can run a wp-ecommerce on each blog you can theme it so it would be streamlined and look like one cohesive site.

Many thanks, I’ll give that a try
