profile links broken on secondary blog

hi everybody,

i’m running buddypress (latest version, 1.2) with wpmu 2.9.1.1 on a secondary blog.

wpmu is set to subdirectories.

i added define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, 2 ); to bp-custom.php

everything seems to work besides *all* profile links are broken everywhere – they redirect to the activity stream.

it doesn’t seem to be a template issue since by now i tried a few and nothing changed.

i cannot even get into my own profile to change something.

i also tried to define the root blog via the config file – same result.

if i try to run it on the primary blog everything works fine.

can anyone direct me what might be wrong?

this means that this guide:

is wrong / obsolete, right?

can you help me a bit further with

“The templates aren’t designed to be used like this. Make or download a new child theme where you override header.php and set the links manually. “

– what does it mean, set links manually?

by now i went through the codex several times and wasn’t able to find out …

Manually – means finding the php code in the header and typing in the right parts of the URL.

this was clear to me … it’s just that in the header.php (also in the one of the “standard” template) i can’t seem to find anything referring to the generating of those urls …
