Did you go to dashboard/settings/general and check the box beside membership that anyone can register?
Yes I did and the page is still blank.
and what’s the result if you use a known compatible theme e.g twentytwelve?
As @hnla said try activating the Twenty Twelve theme and see if the issue persists. It may be your theme and if that is the case then you will need to request support from them.
I dont mean to jump on your thread but…i am having the same issue and i tried activating other basic wordpress themes and still a blank page. It only works on the budaypress theme.
Not so, works fine running twentytwelve, have you tested with this theme and all plugins deactivated?
I ran it in twenty twelve and twenty eleven as well as my gameday theme and it didnt work on any not to mention i had to make the “register” page under the parent of the “community” page just to have it on my gameday theme. When i switched to the buddypress theme it worked just fine (dint check/change the parent part) I just tried to use it by deactivating all my plugins (except for buddy press) and still does not work. I also contacted the company i purchased the theme from and they directed me to other gameday websites with buddy press and they seem to work fine with it. I am truly lost on this. (EDIT): Well this is strange, i just tried it on all 4 themes while changing the register page from “parent page=groups” to “no parent” and it doesnt work now even on buddypress default theme. I get a blank register page on all of them.
Update: If anyone else is having the same problem here was my fix.
1. Upload buddypress and activate
2. Before you update the settings on Buddypress change your theme to the one offered by BP
3. Once you have all your settings set the way you want click save and switch back to your theme.
All back to normal now, no more blank register page and no more re-direct. Hope this helps someone else
mine is still blank, was first using bp-default theme now frisco. anyone can rigister ic enabed, permalinks is enabled, register and activate pages were generated and assigned automatically. i am logged out on a different browser(safari) and even when i log out of chrome, register page is still blank. everything but the home page is blank. anythoughts?
even w/ the twenty twelve theme my register page is blank. I’m running wordpress 3.5.2 and buddypress 1.8. any suggestions? my site is mpowerlive.com
