registered users only plugin – how to exclude ‘home page’ ??

Hi!
I am using at the moment registered users only plugin
however I cannot find a way to exclude the home page

just adding index.php to exclusion list – disables the whole plugin (at least in my testing it seems so)

has anyone have any ideas?
