rel="nofollow" Group Description

    I’ve searched the forums and haven’t been able to find an answer on how to add rel=”nofollow” to links people put in Group Description. SITE-WIDE ACTIVITY does it automatically which is what I need to do on Group Description. The spammers seem to know that it will give them a dofollow link and I’m not able to change it without deleting the group which I’ve been doing.

    Spammers seem to leave once they see their not getting dofollow backlinks.

    Tried changing some things in “bp-groups-filters.php” but couldn’t get it to add ‘ rel=”nofollow” ‘. I’m sure there is an easy way to do this but I just don’t know what it is. Right now I have “let all users create groups” disabled until I can find a fix.

    Thanks for your reply. It works if they don’t use tages, which they do.

    Ah, good spot. Yes, I think BuddyPress should be nofollowing links in the group description field.

    I’ve made a ticket and we’ll try to get this fixed in BuddyPress 2.2 (due to be released mid/late January 2015). If the fix is easy for you to apply, once we do that, I’ll try to remember to come back and leave a note here.
