Remove "Activation" page on user registration

I’ve been trying to figure this out, but i can’t.

Basically, after new users register it gives the whole “An activation email has been sent blah blah blah” but i know that no email is sent out.

What i wanted to do was disable the activation bit, and the whole “activation email” page so when they register instead of the whole email thing it just says “thanks for registering blah blah blah” instead.

I’ve had a look through a few files to see if i can find where that “activation email” message is stored, but reading through that much php just made my brain hurt.

If anyone can give any pointers it’d be appreciated.

I’m going to paraphrase a line out of the iPhone ads:

    “There’s a plugin for that!”

Check out this plugin by Brajesh Singh:

I think it needs to be updated for BP 1.2 though.

@wowfood3 but activation emails are actually sent out. Why isn’t your install sending them?

in all my test installs of 1.2 on wp and wpmu I’ve never had an activation email for new user signups – I just assumed the feature was removed…it’s still there?

A standard Buddypress isntall doesn’t send out activation e-mails, does it?

And if all else fails, there’s a search option in most text editors.
