Remove the “members” suffix in members profile link (fixed)

I have searched again and again but i didn’t see a solution. I want to remove the “members” that comes before the name of the person to make it link directly to the profile. Instance

this is the default site.com/members/dopeboy

this is what i want site.com/dopeboy

Wow, I didn’t believe this thread would be so difficult for all the experts in our community-just kidding. Well, guys at least point me in a direction. Or just solve it because I know this is nothing. Thanks.

Add this to your wp-config.php file before the line that says /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ or your bp-config.php file.

define( 'BP_ENABLE_ROOT_PROFILES', true );

I am placed in a bewilderment! It worked. But I got this code from some site and it didn’t work, then I thought they might have been an update. Well, maybe there was a typo then.
