Removing /blog/ slug from home blog + /%postname%/ permalinks

I’m trying to remove the /blog/ slug from the home blog while using /%postname%/ as the permalink structure.

So what I want to accomplish for the home blog is:

    http://www.example.com/hello-world

    instead of:

    http://www.example.com/blog/hello-world

Jeff’s reply in a previous thread did not answer my question. I know what the consequences are for using /%postname%/ as the permalink structure. I am well-versed with WP standard and I have multiple blogs running on the same permalink structure.

Here’s what I have done so far:

I am using the default Kubrick Home theme and have adjusted my home blog’s settings under “Site Admin > Blogs” to: “Path – /” and “Permalink Settings – “/%postname%/”.

When I attempt to click on the “hello-world” post under the home blog, I get a 404 error.

However, when I go to “/blog/hello-world/”, this works.

Is there a solution to my problem?

Thanks for reading and I apologize for hijacking the previously-resolved thread!

Okay, this seems to have fixed itself somehow.

Maybe I just had to restart Apache!
