Removing Custom Header in Default Theme

As directed, I’m using ” <?php define( ‘BP_DTHEME_DISABLE_CUSTOM_HEADER’, true ); ?> ” in my child theme’s functions.php file to get rid of the custom header inherited from buddypress default theme. However, when I try to update anything in wp-admin, like publishing a new post for instance, I get the white screen of death. Any ideas what am I doing wrong?
