Reply to Notifications via email (Mailing list plugin) & Group File repository

I’m very interested in using Buddypress for my on-line community, so far it seems to tick all the box’s (and some) however there’s a couple of features my members will ask me for.
1. Mailing List Plugin. Is there, or does there plan to be a plugin to allow members to reply to notification emails. For example. In Facebook if I have a notification email I can respond to that discussion from my email account. The discussion is updated in Facebook without me logging in.
2. A decent file repository system. Could groups have file repository, space for uploading and downloading files (not attachments). Or, is there a decent WordPress public file management system?
