Request: Badge Maker

    As far as I can tell, this doesn’t exist out there and it seems like a critical feature (not all users/members are comfortable with html).

    Twitter and Facebook users can easily slap badges on other sites or in emails that link back to their profiles. It seems like buddypress should offer the same.

    I’d vote for the badges to link back to a member’s profile instead of their blog.

    we usually call them “userbars”, as facebook changed the name just to make themselves proud to invent something new… :)

    sure it can be easy to code, i’ve done a great version for vBulletin, and it would take little to make one for WordPress… i suppose someone will be able to code one.. ;)

    Whatever it’s called, it seems like a critical piece to creating a self-perpetuating network. Anything we can do to make it easier for members to promote the network helps.

    WPMU Dev Premium has an affiliate plugin that creates member-specific code tied to images.

    A basic badge that links back to the member’s profile should be much simpler. To me, this should be a core function…

    LinkedIn has a great “button-maker” page too.

    This seems like such a critical feature that every other network seems to offer. I’m wondering why people aren’t getting behind this more :(

    Is it he name? Maybe it should be called “custom buttons”
