[Resolved] How do I strip the ”p” tag from ”bp_group_description_excerpt”?

I need to call the “bp_group_description_excerpt” function to include the group description excetpt into a title attribute (need this to have some jQuery tooltip hover effect).
The problem is that the “bp_group_description_excerpt” funtion outputs the text wrapped up in a
tag.
This is really annoying and I believe that functions should only call the bare text form the DB, not “decide” to wrap the text in any particular HTML tag. That choise should be handed in tempalte files. Anyway…I am sure that I could write a simple PHP filter to that function and strip out the HTML p tag.
it’s just, how do I do that, actually?
