[Resolved] Multiple Issues With Fresh 1.6 Install

    I’m having a few issues with BuddyPress that I was hoping somebody could help with. First a little background:

    * I’m a first time user of BuddyPress, but have many years of WordPress administration
    * This is a fresh install
    * I’m using Google Chrome (if that matters)
    * I have BBPress (2.1.2) installed and running
    * Running WP 3.1.4
    * Current Plugins: Akismet, BBPress, BuddyPress, Jetpack
    * I have created several test users (one for each role)

    My Problems:

    1. When I log out as Admin and log in as my test subscriber user things go OK until I click on the profile to edit things…Then it reverts BACK to the admin profil I was using.

    Notice how the Subscriber profile is on the left but it shows my admin profile on the right? I was logged in as the subscriber at the time…but it changed!

    2. Logged in as an admin, when I try and delete a group it hangs (i.e. I click delete and the working wheel spins but nothing ever happens.)

    3. Logged in as an admin, when I try and accept a friend request from subscriber account it hangs. (i.e. I click accept and the working wheel spins but nothing ever happens.)

    4. When logged in as my admin account, when I try and log out I can’t.

    Update:

    1. Still a problem

    2. Turns out I’m an idiot…I was not trying to delete a group, I was deleting the ACTIVITY post showing I created the group. I was, in fact, able to delete a group by going to the right place (DUH).

    3. Still a problem – I also tried deleting the request I sent to the subscriber test account but it says “Friendship request could not be cancelled.”

    4. Not sure how/why but I can now log out as admin. One thing of note…all of my test accounts and my admin account have the same password for now. I changed my admin account. Logged out via the Dashboard and then logged back in. Shortly there after I was able to log out of my admin account using the BuddyPress Log Out button that was not working for me before.

    Thanks for all the help and feedback – this support forum is great!

    Having had so many minor problems pop up, I decided to try and remove wordpress and start over. The reason was because I had done a scripted install via cPanel using “QuickInstall”.

    So I did a manual install of wordpress, then installed BuddyPress, then installed BBPress.

    Happy to report all the issues I had before are gone. Everything seems to be working as it should.

    Ah hah. Historically we’ve seen strange issues with quick installs in hosted versions; I’d have hoped those would have been ironed out by now, but I’m glad you got the problem resolved.
